This morning I arrived at my shop/office early like I
usually do, before the sun came up. Once it was light out I wandered to the back part of our site to see how the Cannon River was looking. As I saw the water slowly creeping up the land I could only think of the great old Johnny Cash song “How High’s the Water Momma? It’s Three Feet High and Rising.” The river has jumped its banks on the north end of our property and flooded over quite a bit of area. Our buildings, set at the 100 year flood elevation, are still several feet above the water….unlike some of the buildings in downtown Northfield.
I drove through Dundas this morning as discovered the baseball field is under water.
