Structure at Faith Lutheran

100_1280 Through the cold and snow work has continued at the Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center. Snow clearing takes some time, but our workers generally prefer snow to cold rainy weather. We re-roofed most of the existing building before the snow accumulated which was good.

This week we have focused on erecting the steel100_1283 beams and columns. The roof structure over the new sanctuary is supported on some pretty big steel beams. They are over 60 feet long to span the room. And of course, the sanctuary has a tall ceiling, so it takes some careful work to get everything set into place. We also have completed much of the wood frame roof over the office and administrative areas of the church, including the sheltered entry area roof.

100_1284 The carpenters continue to frame the walls surrounding the sanctuary, both with wood and steel framing. We have all been thankful for the nice fall weather which allowed us to get all the new concrete floors in place. Shortly we will be working on the connection between the existing church and the new addition.
