For the past couple of weeks one of our crews has been busy installing new siding on a clients house on the Mississippi River. The house was built in the early 1970’s and has had some real wear on it. The original siding is a plywood sheet siding with grooves in it, generally called “T-111”. It had decayed in many areas and woodpeckers were really starting to hammer on it. So we worked with the owners to arrive at a plan that fit their budget and desires. We are installing Hardi-plank horizontal lap siding. The horizontal application of siding fits well with the house. We are incorporating a water table board at the base of the siding and at the midpoint of the walls. The new siding is 5″ exposure on the upper portion of the house and 6″ exposure on the lower portion. We also installed new pre-finished metal soffits and fascia boards. When the paint job is complete it will look like a new home!
