We have wrapped up our work on the ‘outside’ living area addition we created for a client this summer. This was a fun project that involved adding the room addition and deck on a home we constructed about 6 years ago.
The room includes a lovely gas fireplace as well as a buffet serving area, complete with
sink, dishwasher and refrigerator. This makes it handy to serve prepared meals. The inside of the room is finished with Craftsman style wood trims and has a very warm, cozy feeling. On chilly fall evenings the gas fireplace will quickly take the chill out of the room. The ceiling of the room is finished with natural fir.
The deck is not huge but fits nicely between the new room and the existing home. We used a combination of metal and wood to create the deck railing, allowing
good visibility through the railing. A gas barbeque grill fits on the deck ready to serve dinners. The owners are arranging to have landscape work completed shortly. The exterior of the room addition is finished in Portland cement stucco, creating a very durable, long-lasting exterior surface.
