Northfield Historical Society Accessibility Project

We have started work on a nice project for the Northfield Historical Society. It involves making the Scriver Building more accessible to people and includes the installation of an elevator. The Scriver Building is a wonderful old stone building standing proud on Bridge Square. We’ve done work on it off and on, including installing a new exterior stairway recently. As part of this project we will be constructing new toilets, improving exiting and fire protection and upgrading the electrical system.

Last night the Historical Society board of directors and staff held a ‘ground breaking’ ceremony in front of the building. We provided the ‘golden’ shovels and the hardhats. It was a lovely evening with light snow and fun to be out and part of this exciting event.

Stay tuned for more information….
