We are building a new garage for a long time customer, in the rural area outside Northfield. This was a challenging site as the best location for the garage backed up to a fairly big hill. The homeowner didn’t want to have the garage walls in contact with the soils, so we had to do a bit of excavation to slope the soils properly away from the garage. We did this work late last fall, then put some protection and silt fencing on the hillside. We constructed the foundation for the garage and it sat until last week when we started the carpentry work.
This garage has a hip roof which makes for interesting truss roof patterns.
