Last weekend Ellen and I spent time at our lake cottage and in the Carlton County area. It was a superb weekend with bright sunny days, cool evenings and warm days. Perfect time for a fall break in Minnesota. The previous weekend we headed down to Mantorville. On both these weekends farmers were out in force harvesting crops. It is a remarkable event to see such activity and the bountiful crops that this area grows.
While we were at our cottage I ‘harvested’ the last of our tomatoes and peppers from our little garden. I thought the bowl of bright red produce looked nice. These end of the season tomatoes and hot peppers are my favorite as they seem to have captured the sun and goodness from the soils and sun and concentrate it in these little packages.
