We have been concentrating on getting the roof installed at Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center. This building project incorporates a combination of steel and wood framing systems in both the walls and the roof. Just over a week ago we finished with the major columns and beams.
The roof over the new sanctuary has two massive steel beams that form the roof
ridge lines. With steel cross beams providing additional support, engineered lumber joists are being set in place on top of the steel beams. This will create a dramatic ceiling in the sanctuary as the roof lifts up to the east. Eventually we will be constructing the bell tower and cross.
We have had to deal with mountains of snow this winter on the site, but shortly all the roofs will be finished and snow will not be such an issue.
