Associated Builders and Contractors

100_0860 Yesterday afternoon I participated in a fundraising event with the Minnesota Associated  Builders and Contractors (ABC). This is a group that I’ve been workingABC. cropped with for many years. They have a good membership base of contractors all across Minnesota and work together to promote free-markets and individual responsibility in the construction industry. Like many organizations at this time of year, they have a political arm that is working to advance candidates that also believe in market driven solutions to issues facing workers and companies today.

100_0863 The fundraiser was held at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt club in rural Scott County and100_0862 featured a sporting clays shoot. It was a perfect afternoon to be strolling the woods from station to station trying to break clay pigeons. Like so many things, seeing a clay pigeon sailing softly out over the trees and grass looks like it should be pretty easy to hit…wrong! The speed, wind gusts, tilt and angles always seem to factor in just a little bit more challenge than it first appears. But, everyone had a great time for some hours out trying to do their best on the clay pigeons.

100_0866 After the shooting we gathered inside the clubhouse for a very nicely prepared dinner, and100_0859 the opportunity to chat with fellow ABC members. It was fun for me to take an afternoon away from my normal construction work….support a good cause…..and catch up with other building contractors.
