ARTech

Northfield Construction Company was selected to perform the necessary remodeling services for ARTech… a new public charter school in Northfield. Chris Smisek is the Project Manager that ran the job, which finished last week right on schedule.

In a recent mailing ARTech thanked Northfield Construction Company for going a good job converting the former FrigoScandia building on Cannon Lane into a grade 6-12 charter school.

Leisa Irwin and the folks at the school were great to work for and I was pleased that we could assist them on this work. John Klockeman from Northfield, a partner in Blumentals Architecture in Minneapolis, was the project architect.

One of the most important things a contractor needs to do in school work is to constantly evaluate the job progress and the job schedule. Schools must open on time. In order to open all life safety work must be completed and a Certificate of Occupancy obtained from the regulatory permitting agency….generally a city. In additon, many times the State Fire Marshall must approve the completed facilty, especially if the facility is a remodeled conversion as ARTech is.

Northfield Construction Company takes pride in our ability to evaluate work and keep projects on schedule. We are pleased that ARTech appreciated all our efforts in this project and wish everyone at ARTech a successful first year as they embark on their educational journey.
