We are just about finished with the first phase of the work we are doing at the Northfield 5th Street parking lot. Part of our work involved creating large curved concrete steps from the sidewalk into the river. It can be used as a seat to observe the river, or as steps for canoeists to exit the river above the dam. The architect created a very interesting feature for the step/seat…..a large limestone rock in the center of the steps. We set the rock last Friday and I think it looks great. It softens the mass of the concrete
