We are coming down the home stretch with our West side addition and remodeling project. Our goal at the start was to have the kitchen back together so the owners could roast their Thanksgiving turkey in the oven. We are on track to do that. The kitchen cabinets were completed Friday. On this project we used KraftMaid cabinets in a light oak finish. The countertop is plastic laminate and it incorporates an undermount composition sink. We’ve never used this type of sink mount in a plastic laminate countertop before, but I’m very impressed with the installation. It provides a totally smooth countertop surface without any sink edges or lips.
We also had the new red oak flooring installed in the upstairs room. This floor really looks great and will be an excellent flooring material for the sewing room. After the floor was sanded, two coats of floor finish have been installed. We will finish window and door trims as well as painting, then have the final floor finish coat applied.
