Here at Northfield Construction Company, we have had quite a busy summer. You may have seen our projects at Laura Baker Services or the Brick Oven Bakery. Another recent project we wrapped up is a home on the West Side of Northfield. You can see our original progress on the project here and here.
Seeing the project from start to finish is a rewarding process. We completed projects such as installing the roof trusses as well as completing the floor system, exterior walls and sheathing, and most of the interior walls. This house has a hip roof—-all sides slope down—-which creates a very stable, strong roof.
Inside the home are maple floors, dark wood cabinets, and ceramic tile floors in the bathrooms. This home is fully accessible and has a ‘roll in’ shower. The main bathroom also has a glass block window wall which creates a dramatic feel for the room.
During the construction process, the owners decided to change the exterior finish from smooth fiber-cement panels to Portland stucco. We applied and finished the stucco in a bright white. With black accents, the white contrast creates a sharp, distinct look for the house. The home has 10′ high walls so all the rooms are very spacious and filled with light.
