Take Your Dog to Work Day!

It’s National Take Your Dog to Work Day, so you know what that means: Otto the Construction Dog is here, taking over the blog!

I’m a hard-working pup, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to walk you through a day in my life at Northfield Construction Company. I visit the office often with my human Chris, and there’s always something going on!

(Psst! If you like what you see here, be sure to follow me on Instagram @constructiondogotto. I post a ton of fun pics there — showcasing everything from project site visits to my daily naps!)

Morning

When we get to the office in the morning, the first thing I do is jump out of the car and beeline inside to secure a good napping spot. Even if I’m not tired, I gotta reserve my space! I wouldn’t want anyone on the team stealing it!

Chris usually begins his day by catching up on emails, making phone calls, and checking in with the team. I’m with him every step of the way. My favorite part is greeting everyone on the team. Sometimes, they even give me treats! What a great way to start the day!

Afternoon

Towards the middle of the day, we break for lunch (another one of my favorite things!) and visit construction sites for current projects around the community. It’s always fun to check in on the progress. Every project is unique!

When I’m sniffing around construction sites, Chris always makes sure I’m being careful. The Northfield Construction Company team takes safety SUPER seriously. Hard hats and reflective clothing is a must!

Once Chris lets me know it’s safe, I do some exploring. I like to see what the team members are up to at each site. They’re always keeping busy!

Evening

The end of the day always comes too quickly! I say my goodbyes to everyone in the office (and get a few more treats while I’m at it!) and help them shut down for the day.

The car ride home is always a lot of fun, too (especially when Chris rolls the windows down!) Once we get back, I usually eat my dinner. Sometimes, the end of my work day is not the end for Chris (he’s in high demand!) but I don’t waste any time taking a well deserved nap.

Hope you had a wonderful Take Your Dog to Work Day with your favorite furry pal!
