Forever Home Project in Northfield, MN | Theater Room

When Brian and Kay Doughty set out to build their new home there were certain things they wanted to make sure were included in the home they planned to retire in.

One example would be to include their love for theater – specifically The Grand Theater. Brian’s dad, Tom Doughty, once owned The Grand and as a young couple, Brian and Kay lived above it. Movies have always been a big part of their life together.

Their new home will have a Theater Room, complete with a stage for performances, and a Lobby — with yes, a ticket booth. “We’re kind of geeking out on this,” says Brian. The Theater Room will also double as a “safe room”. The home is being designed as a Forever Home. This means that is is all one-level living to make the home comfortable to age in. The safe room will be built to act as a tornado shelter should that ever be needed.

Brian had some kind words to say about the Northfield Construction Team, “They can envision what we want and are concerned that we are happy with the project. We feel really good about working with them.”

We will continue to update you on the progress of this unique home. Thank you Brian and Kay for teaming up with Northfield Construction!
